Counterpoint International Competition 2012
Compositions for
a) flute solo
b) organ, piano or harpsichord solo
c) flute with any keyboard instrument
d) flute, guitar, and keyboard instrument
e) guitar solo
f) guitar and keyboard instrument
g) guitar and flute
h) electronics may be added to any of the above instrumental choices
Contest Rules:
Works may not have been already awarded in other contests. However, the work may have had a previous performance.
There is no age limit for entrants, and more than one composition per composer is permitted.
Application due date is March 15, 2012
Closing Date is March 15, 2012
Prizes: First, second, third, prizes are to be given, with the option of honorable mentions in extremely close decisions.
Competition information:
Please send hard copies of works and explanatory note using a pseudonym or keyword (or one pdf to Muzarte@msn.com).
Send in a sealed annex, personal data: name, sddress, phone, email, a brief curriculum vitae and photo.
For catagories c and d, please send 6 complete scores and, in sealed annex with name only, one set ofparts.
Send one brief note explaining composition's origins, sources, techniques used, and other descriptions (one page maximum) to be used as program notes for the performances, along with application fee of 50 euros banknote or US dollar equivalent money order or check payable to Linda Wetherill, comptroller and general director.
